Passport Coffee

Passport Coffee App

Passport Coffee was conceived as a class project. I went on to continue and add to it after the class was finished.

Goal Statement

Our coffee shop app will allow users to order ahead. This will cut out waiting in line for our busy coffee drinkers. We will measure effectiveness by collecting data on the number of online orders.

Competitive Audit

The competitive audit was done on four businesses: Starbuck (probably the most direct competitor), Dunkin, Blind Tiger Coffee Cafe, and Panera.

All are in different phases of online apps and websites. One company, Blind Tiger, had no online ordering system.

Looking back, none had seat reservation systems.

The Personas

Natalia is a busy business executive who needs a way to order coffee in advance, so that she doesn't have to wait in line.

Roberto is a Real Estate Salesperson who needs a way to reserve tables in advance because he needs his meetings with clients to run smoothly.

If Natalia has an app to order coffee on then she can order ahead and skip the line.

If Roberto has a way to reserve tables in advance, then he can be assured his meetings will begin on time and feel more professional.

Low-Fi Prototype

The low fidelity prototype moved into testing and refinements before the mock ups began.

Usability Study

Study Feedback

"Flow works well. I would like more features."

"No login page"

"The pop up with the drink sizes is too much."

Goals after study

1) Add login page

2) Move drink sizes into the same menu as customizations

3) Add a navigation menu

Mockups

The entire project was based on passports and travel. The title fonts and colors were taken from the U.S. Passport. Other travel pictures were added in based on a more romantic look at travel.

High Fidelity Prototype

With all the iterations done, a high fidelity prototype was put together.
